I hope you’re having a GREAT day!
I’ve been real busy experimenting in the kitchen.
I’m creating recipes for my new recipe book. It’s
been a fun and exciting project. I’ll be unveiling
and testing some of my best and most delicious
creations this week at my monthly potluck.

3.0 This Weeks Featured Recipes
Orange Tahini Dressing
This is one of my favorite recipes. The acid in the
citrus will break down the fat in the tahini. Lemon
juice, lime juice, or raw apple cider vinegar also
work well.
4 tablespoons tahini
3/4 cup fresh orange juice
(1/2) teaspoon Celtic Sea Salt or Himalayan Salt
2 teaspoons grated ginger
1 Tablespoon dulse or kelp flakes
1 teaspoon cumin
(1/4) teaspoon cayenne powder
1 Tablespoon Miso
(I prefer the South River Miso,
http://www.southrivermiso.com )
In bowl, mix the orange juice and tahini, stirring
with a fork. The citrus will break down the tahini
and make it creamy. Add salt, miso, and sea
vegetables. Add spices to taste. The dressing will
last one to two weeks in the refrigerator.

Succeeding socially on a raw foods diet
is difficult at first, but it will become much
easier over time. It can be tough when you
aren’t receiving support from family and
friends. Tell them you don’t expect them
to eat raw and you would like their support.
Here are the top 7 techniques to ensure
your success in a non-raw world.
1) Be a Leader
Don’t try to force your ideas, beliefs,
and eating patterns on them. Just lead by
example, and once you start seeing results
from your excellent eating habits people
will start asking you what your secret is.
2) Ask
Tell your family and friends that you are
setting goals to transition to a raw foods
diet and you would appreciate their support
and help. If you ask them for support, they
will give it to you.
3) Prepare Beautiful and Delicious Gourmet Food
One of the best ways to introduce people to
the raw foods lifestyle is through the raw
gourmet dishes. The gourmet recipes taste
so good that people will be amazed and
impressed. The food will effortlessly sell the
diet to your friends and family, and you won’t
need to do any work.
You’re not going to convert people to the
raw diet with celery and carrots, so you’re
going to have to work your magic in the
kitchen. The first thing you need to do is
purchase a good recipe book. Practice the
recipes before sharing them with your family,
just in case it doesn’t turn out well.
You don’t want to give friends their first
taste of raw with an untested recipe, it
could be a disaster and prevent them from
sampling raw forever!
Guacamole and salsa are good recipes to start
with because of their familiarity. You may
then move up to complex dishes such as chocolate
cake, berry pie, burgers, tacos, and some of your
favorite entrées and appetizers.
The problem is, your friends and family think of
raw foods as tasteless carrots and celery. It is
your responsibility to serve them food that looks
like this->

Prepare for the Restaurant
The biggest test of your willpower will
come when you visit a restaurant. A visit
to the restaurant is unavoidable. We all
are required to visit restaurants on special
occasions, whether it’s a friend’s birthday,
a wedding, or another special occasion. You
may be surprised at the selection of raw
foods available at restaurants, even though
they aren’t listed on the menu.
4) Call the Restaurant
The easiest way to go about this is to call
the restaurant in advance and ask them to
prepare you a special raw salad. You can
then bring your own small containers of
salad dressing, avocado, and nuts to add
to the salad.
5) Eat Raw Foods Before the Restaurant
Personally, I eat before going in the restaurant.
This prevents my hunger from taking over. By
eating an appetizer, I'll be satisfied with a small
salad served in the restaurant. A few pieces of
fruit, avocados, nuts, seeds and smoothies will
satisfy your appetite.
6) Use the Restaurant Card
If you didn’t call the restaurant in advance,
silently hand the waitperson the card below when
it is your turn to order.
I found this card in the classic
book by Victoria Boutenko titled
“12 Steps to Raw”.
http://www.rawfamily.com/products.htm
Print it out, make copies, carry it with you,
and use it at restaurants. Often you will
find that the dish you receive is incredibly
delicious, filling, and less expensive than
other menu options. The cooks will appreciate
the opportunity to be creative and will reward
you with an incredible salad.
