Q-Link Technology

Dear friend,

The following is a testimony for our Sympathetic Resonance Q-link Technology and its many benefits in mediating the harmful effects of EMF, for one of our wearers.

I want to thank you once again for your prompt assistance concerning my need for a new black silk cord for my 2001 Q-Link. Below you will find my initial and continuing experience with this wonderful piece of technology.

I first found out about the Q-Link in 2001 while thumbing through a Tools For Wellness magazine. As I looked at the picture, I knew there was something unique about this thing that looked like a talisman of sort.

I read a brief description of the technology and the fact that electro-magnetic frequencies were the reason for much of the inner conflict we all undergo in this world. EMF pollution was everywhere, and I knew it was time for me to look into this further.

I read about the QLink. This was for me, and I began to save and pool my finances together and send off for my own Q-Link. I could hardly wait to put it on my person, so it could go to work. The price at that time for the black acrylic pendant was $129.00.

Finally, in the mail it came, in a nice package. And when I opened it up and pulled out that beautiful felt, navy pouch, embroidered with the letters, QLINK, I knew this was first class material that wasn't put together in someone's garage.

Inside was that little pouch with the gold cord. I didn't pull out the piece yet. I began reading all about it, what I could expect, and how to take care of it. I then listened to the tape, "Linking Mind & Body with Nature in the Electronic World." That really turned me on. And now I was ready for the initial experience.

I opened the little pouch, pulled out the little treasure, and held it in my hand. I could feel some energy coming from it. So I tied the two ends of the black silk cord together, said a prayer, and then placed it over my head and around my neck.

What I felt and sensed was primarily in the region of my head. Draw a vertical jagged line, and next to it, draw a straight line. My frame of mind, outlook, thought pattern, awareness, coupled with a general worries, anxieties, cares, and overall self image, were that jagged line.

Then, over a period of thirty seconds, all of that underwent a transformation, as the energy began to move up into my head. All the negativity vanished, and positive feelings of wellbeing and completeness took over my being. The jagged line now became a straight line.

My energy field was now full and complete, whereas before, it had numerous gaps. The magnetic aura that surrounded me now was like a protective shield. All due to that Q-Link I had on me. I became focused, confident, poised, worry free, no longer irritable or easily angered. It put me in the 'zone', as you would say.

I've worn it every day now for six years. And I can say the benefits that began when I first put it on, continue today, just the same, and even better. I have found that, the longer you wear the Q-Link, the effects and positive benefits continue to grow and deepen. It is a constant experience that enables you to adapt to all the electro-magnetic radiation around you, without coming under its adverse effects.

The Q-Link is, without any doubt, a dire necessity for every human being on the planet. We have now the greatest degree of EMF the world has ever known. It's coming from every direction and pulsating through the atmosphere around us. People are being bombarded. And it's affecting their lives much more than they realize. Mentally, physically, emotionally, and not to mention all the stress.

Don't hesitate to purchase the Q-Link for yourself and your family. It will do wonders for you in many ways. You will feel much better knowing you have a shield of protection around your body, to counteract that harmful radiation coming from all those electric appliances, computers, cell phones, electronic devices, lights, etc. Wear it all the time. It will bring harmony into your being.

I could just go on and on. I'm very thankful for my Q-Link. You might say a prayer for me to be able to get the latest SRT 3 Q-Link. I've been to the site, and it looks sleek. And I understand it's even stronger than the original. Thanks again for the cord.

Kind Regards,

Frank McAnally

"The Incredible Shrinking Fat Cell"...
What Really Happens When Body Fat is Burned?
By Tom Venuto, NSCA-CPT, CSCS

Author of Burn The Fat, Feed the Muscle, Fat Loss Program

Earlier this week someone in our discussion forum wrote, "I haven't "LOST" any fat... I know EXACTLY where it went! I got a chuckle out of that because I "got" the joke, but truth is, most people really don't know how fat cells work, how the fat burning process takes place or where the fat goes when it's burned. It's actually quite a complex biochemical process, but I'll explain it as simply as possible, so by the end of this article, you'll be a "fat burning" expert!

When you "lose" body fat, the fat cell (also called an adipocyte) does not go anywhere or "move into the muscle cell to be burned. The fat cell itself, (unfortunately) stays right where it was - under the skin in your thighs, stomach, hips, arms, etc., and on top of the muscles - which is why you can't see muscle "definition" when your body fat is high.

Fat is stored inside the fat cell in the form of triaglycerol. The fat is not burned right there in the fat cell, it must be liberated from the fat cell through somewhat complex hormonal/enzymatic pathways. When stimulated to do so, the fat cell simply releases its contents (triaglycerol) into the bloodstream as free fatty acids (FFA's), and they are transported through the blood to the tissues where the energy is needed.

A typical young male adult stores about 60,000 to 100,000 calories of energy in body fat cells. What triggers the release of all these stored fatty acids from the fat cell? Simple: When your body needs energy because you're consuming fewer calories than you are burning (an energy deficit), then your body releases hormones and enzymes that signal your fat cells to release your fat reserves instead of keeping them in storage.

For stored fat to be liberated from the fat cell, hydrolysis (lipolysis or fat breakdown), splits the molecule of triaglycerol into glycerol and three fatty acids. An important enzyme called hormone sensitive lipase (HSL) is the catalyst for this reaction. The stored fat (energy) gets released into the bloodstream as FFA's and they are shuttled off to the muscles where the energy is needed. As blood flow increases to the active muscles, more FFA's are delivered to the muscles that need them.

An important enzyme called lipoprotein lipase (LPL), then helps the FFA's get inside the mitochondria of the muscle cell, where the FFA's can be burned for energy. If you've ever taken a biology class, then you've probably heard of the mitochondria. This is the "cellular powerhouse" where energy production takes place and this is where the FFA's go to be burned for energy.

When the FFA's are released from the fat cell, the fat cell shrinks and that's why you look leaner when you lose body fat - because the fat cell is now smaller. A small or "empty" fat cell is what you're after if you want the lean, defined look.

It was once believed that the number of fat cells could not increase after adulthood, only the size of the fat cells could increase (or decrease). We now know that fat cells can indeed increase both in size (hypertrophy) and in number (hyperplasia) and that they are more likely to increase in number at certain times and under certain circumstances, such as 1) during late childhood and early puberty, 2) During pregnancy, and 3) During adulthood when extreme amounts of weight are gained

Some people are genetically predisposed to have more fat cells than others and women have more fat cells than men. An infant usually has about 5 - 6 billion fat cells. This number increases during early childhood and puberty, and a healthy adult with normal body composition has about 25 to 30 billion fat cells. A typical overweight adult has around 75 billion fat cells. But in the case of severe obesity, this number can be as high as 250 to 300 billion!

The average size (weight) of an adult fat cell is about 0.6 micrograms, but they can vary in size from 0.2 micograms to 0.9 micrograms. An overweight person's fat cells can be up to three times larger than a person with ideal body composition.

Remember, body fat is basically just a reserve source of energy and fat cells are the like the storage tanks. Unlike a gas tank in your car which is fixed in size, however, fat cells can expand or shrink in size depending on how "filled" they are.

Picture a balloon that is not inflated: It's tiny when not filled with air - maybe the size of your thumb. When you blow it up with air, it can expand 10 or 12 times it's normal size, because it simply fills up. That's what happens to fat cells: They start as nearly empty fat storage "tanks" (when you are lean), and when energy intake exceeds your needs, your fat cells "fill up" and "stretch out" like balloons filling up with jelly (not a pretty picture, is it?)

So you don't actually "lose" fat cells, you "shrink" or "empty out" fat cells.

Take-home lessons:

1. Calories count! The signal that triggers your body to release adipose from fat cells is an energy deficit... you have to burn more than you eat.

2. Cut calories conservatively. Starving yourself may cause quick weightloss at first, but never works long term because it actually decreases the activity of fat burning enzymes that release fat from the cells. to avoid this "starvation mode" use exercise to BURN THE FAT, not very low calorie crash diets.

3. Get control of your weight now. If you are gaining weight, and especially if your weight is climbing upwards out of control, make a decision to STOP RIGHT NOW. Your fat cells might be multiplying, making it more difficult to burn fat in the future. NOW is the time!

4. If you've already lost weight, you must be forever diligent. Your fat cells are not gone, they have merely "shrunk" or "emptied out." Fitness is not a 12 week program, its a lifestyle. To stay lean you have to eat clean and stay active

5. Genetics are only a minor factor. You may not have control over how many fat cells you were born with, but you do control the major factors that determine how much fat you store: lifestyle, exercise, nutrition, mental attitude.

Genetics are not an excuse. The past is not an excuse. Your present condition is not an excuse. You can either make excuses or get results, but you can't do both.

So keep educating yourself about the science, read these newsletters, take action every day and go out there and make it happen!

Omega-3 Dietary Fats will Improve Vision

Omega-3 To Benefit Vision For Patients With Dry Macular Degeneration

An open case control study including oral antioxidant and omega-3 supplement for dry Age-Related Macular Degeneration found that 76.7% of subjects receiving the nutritional supplement demonstrated stabilization or improvement of Best Corrected Visual Acuity over a six-month period.

Francis E. Cangemi, MD, an ophthalmologist, published the results of the study, which treated patients with a unique supplement containing Taurine, Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Zinc, Antioxidant and Lutein over a six-month period, in the February 26, 2007 issue of BMC Opthalmology. Known as the TOZAL study, the results here far surpassed those found in the AREDS (Age-Related Eye Disease Study). The earlier study, sponsored by the National Eye Institute, first demonstrated that high levels of antioxidants and zinc reduced the risk of developing advanced AMD by approximately 25%.

The TOZAL study enrolled 37 mixed gender patients, with a mean age of 76.3 years and at least one eye diagnosed with dry AMD, at five independent study sites, with the subjects receiving standard care with the TOZAL formulation. Results were compared to a placebo cohort constructed from the literature that was matched for inclusion and exclusion criteria. Subjects gained an average of 0.0541 logMAR, or one-half of a line of visual acuity over the six-month period.

Raw Foods in Minneapolis

Hello friends

This is a great article from Whole Life Times.

Enjoy!

Mike
Author of the Raw Foods diet newsletter

Open Up and Say Raw

My first foray into living foods culture didn’t come in the hallowed halls of sun-drenched SoCal's pioneering raw restaurants. It wasn’t among the health-forward foodie trendsetters of lower Manhattan, or the Alice Waters-educated, farmer’s market-worshipping San Francisco sophisticates. No, the first time I sampled "noodles" made from fresh spiral-shaved zucchini, or dehydrated sprouted grains masquerading as pizza crust, was in that plain, humble, straightforward gem of the Midwest — that "third coast" surrounded by hinterland and 1600 miles from the nearest year-round growing season: Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Uptown Minneapolis’s Ecopolitan restaurant was a cozy, welcoming hideaway of rough-hewn wood, potted plants and cheery, well-turned-out regulars. With its display cases of hemp wallets and pink crystal health salts, its bulletin boards blooming with flyers for weekend cleanses and vegan meetups, it was clear from the get-go that Ecopolitan was more than just a restaurant — it was a Community, it was a Lifestyle, it was a Movement.

The apple cheeked young waitstaff waxed poetic on the menu’s particulars with a moony-eyed devotion I remembered from the short-lived oxygen bar in my college town (although I must admit, it was less startling to see devotees suckling Thai coconuts as opposed to oxygen masks). While the food was good, hearty and flavorful, what kept us coming back — for date and almond milk smoothies with friends, or dinner with family from out of town — was the oddball factor, the irresistible novelty of dining on rawsagna and pretending nuts were cheese, all the while stealing sidelong marveling glances at the folks who ate like this all the time.

As for real raw foodists, I could never picture joining their fevered ranks. These people were hardcore! Not only did they give up cheddar, bacon and sushi, they shunned coffee, tortilla chips, veggie burger barbecues and veganrella! The prospect of facing a Minnesota winter without the comfort of tomato soup and grilled cheese, a spicy Indian curry or a fresh-baked… well… anything... seemed like the grimmest deprivation. No wonder they needed so many support groups.

This month, Whole Life Times takes a second look at the raw and living foods movement, to see what has changed over the years. If you're like me, having long ago written off raw as a path for only the most disciplined health disciple, you might be intrigued to discover that the movement has grown far more accessible, practical and pleasurable than it began. Probably the most notable change has been the shift away from quitting cooked foods cold turkey (or… uhhh… tofurkey) and toward the concept of percentages — of gradually increasing the portion of raw foods in your diet to find a balance that's right for you. While most raw foods leaders still preach a high percentage, generally 80 or above, the community as a whole has become much more open to and supportive of the drop-in raw-curious. And in turn, the numbers of casually raw are growing, in large part due to more readily available raw options in restaurants and organic markets across the country.

But what's perhaps most newsworthy about next-gen raw foodists is their endless creativity and insatiable hunger for new tastes, experiences and flavors. Bound by the limits of uncooking, the best raw chefs rise to the culinary challenge by experimenting with the most outrageous ingredients and techniques on earth. We can thank them for introducing the mainstream to the wonders of sprouting, dehydrating and juicing, and to far-out flavors like sea veggies, agave nectar and raw cacao.

If you've never tried raw food, I hope this issue encourages you to venture out to one of the new raw restaurants that have been popping up like [insert favorite edible plant reference here] around LA. And even if you’re already hip to raw, I hope, as always, you find some food for thought in our pages. Or at least some good recipe ideas.
