Organic Raw Foods and Pesticides

To maintain the energy levels of an NCAA March Madness athlete, proper nutrition is essential. A vegan raw and living foods diet is a simple and delicious way to increase your energy levels and improve your health.

I encourage you to explore the raw foods diet through my free newsletter at www.TheRawDiet.com

The raw foods diet is becoming quite popular among Hollywood celebrities including the Sopranos star Leslie Bega, Woody Harrelson, Andy Dick, Demi Moore, and Gary Busey.

A common problem among those on the raw foods diet is the cost and expense. The blenders cost $400, the dehydrators cost $200, the superfoods cost $12 a pound, and organic produce costs twice as much as conventional produce.

While organic produce costs more, it is worth the extra price. Non-organic conventional produce is filled with cancer causing pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, and other toxins.

It is not always neccessary to eat organic. The high water foods must be organic. It is okay to eat the low water content foods conventionally.

Some low water content, non-organic, convential foods that are safe to eat include avocados, nuts, seeds, grains, kale, durian, and sea vegetables.

Some conventionally grown foods are treated with more pesticides than others. Some retain more of the pesticides. Here is a list of the top 10 foods containing the most pesticides, according to the Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit research group based in Washington, D.C.
